As I’ve mentioned before I can never forget the faces and voices of those who suffer, once exposed to them it is impossible for me to disregard them, ever. When I wrote my last post (They Will Get What They Want) I mentioned New Orleans and the result of Katrina in light of what we are now facing with the current economic meltdown (meltdown for most, enrichment for others). I did not plan to write this present post highlighting New Orleans and what happened in Katrina’s aftermath. I just happened to read a fresh article, this morning, of the so-called white vigilante groups that took advantage of the chaos by going on a killing spree and seemingly avoiding prosecution, so far. Canada to give $4 billion to the U.S. auto industry, Sweden offers $3.4 billion to the U.S. auto industry, Bush proposes $17.4 billion for the U.S. auto industry and on and on and on! Don’t for a minute believe its near an end the pump has just been primed! Yet there is insufficient aid for education in the U.S., healthcare is too expensive in the U.S., New Orleans is STILL in a state of devastation, the majority of the world is malnourished, the majority of the world lives below the poverty level and on and on and on! You don’t need links to these last statements because you know that they are true! WHO do you think these corporations in need of a “bailout” depend on to survive? WHO do you think banks depend on to survive? WHO do you think state and federal politicians depend on to survive? WHERE do you suppose this “bailout” money comes from? Think…THINK!

From the age of four to approximately seven I had the privilege of living on a farm! As I think about it, we didn’t own it I don’t believe, but just lived there. It was actually my grandparent’s home and I lived there with a dog, pigs, chickens, rabbits, honey bees (in maintained hives), and cows. There was a couple of barns, a silo, a pig’s pen, chicken coupe, rabbit hutch, plenty of acreage for the cows to move about and a yard for free roaming chickens, it was a little boy’s paradise! We The People are the government plain and simple, everywhere and anywhere on Mother Earth. From the ground beneath our feet to the sky high above, it all belongs to US, The People. We have been made to forget that Read more »

There are times (many in fact) when I feel completely overwhelmed by what I wake up to and try to fall asleep with every single day. I often think about those who are less fortunate and remember all the faces that I’ve seen that reflect a life of wretched discomfort and pain that this world envelops them in. Read more »

Is there more to the story concerning the economy; the U.S. economy, and the world’s economy? With bank failures, foreclosures, and corporate bailouts to name a few with more to come, much more. Some of us know that there is definitely more to the story and that this situation just didn’t happen, unassisted. We most likely can’t give you a detailed answer as to how this came about but our gut tells us that something is amiss. Those who do know would have us believe that this is all the result of the housing market and sub prime lending. Please take the time to read the perspective of someone who has more than just a “gut feeling”:
If We Don’t Learn From History…

As you can see this is my first posting since the elections. I needed a little time to just sit back and well, observe and reflect (actually I had other projects to tend to as well). On the reflection part I revisited the past two elections in which George W was presented as the “Chosen One” and remembered how potent the Republican Party seemed. Read more »

I had written another post about the upcoming U.S. elections (national and local) and happened to come across this gem of a write-up. Even though my planned post is along the same vein (sort of), I liked this one much better. Most words in caps and all bold text are my doing for emphasis. Read more »

Closing in on Election Day here in the United States means, exposure to an intensifying and constant barrage of campaign rhetoric from the local to national level. It has never ceased to amaze me as to the amount of money spent in this endeavor. What is even more amazing is how people seem to eat it up! Does it ever dawn on most people that the vast majority of this incredibly expensive broadcast time is dedicated to the smearing of the opposition and very little if any on pertinent issues? I have noticed the air of excitement surrounding many in these last days of the present administration, the Bush administration to be precise. It has been documented that George W. Bush himself has been quite subdued during the Republican campaign efforts, I guess in an attempt by McCain/Palin to show that they do represent a different stance. And of course we are familiar with the so-called “Change” platform of the Obama/Biden ticket, which I referenced in my first ever post. As far as the rest (I will list all that I am aware of because they deserve at least to be included): Read more »
